Soliel Tan De Chanel Bronzer Review

Hey beauties,

This product has become an essential staple in my makeup collection and is worth every dollar spent. I read many reviews, watched many videos and heard many amazing things about this bronzer that it took me over a year to finally purchase it.

I purchased it in December 2014 and now used it for a good couple of months to give an accurate review of this product. At first I thought that it was orange-y for my skin tone but I walked around in natural lighting and  I fell in love.

You only need a small amount to give a nice natural glow to your skin and blends smoothly. I use a stippling brush to apply the bronzer onto my contours.  It isn't a matte bronzer but it isn't heavily sparkly, it has just the right amount to give a soft glow to the skin.

It is pricey because hello its Chanel, but it is worth it and I know it will last for a long time! When it comes to any products you should do a general research and see if it will be worth it for you. Dont just buy it out of impulse! (I'm guilty for such things!)

Favourite L'Oreal Mascara

Hello There!!!

Yes i know I've disappeared but you can blame school for that; too many assignments and exams BLAHHHH!!!But I'm back and i have so much to talk about and so much to look forward to this season, i can't evennnnnn (common white girl reference).

So for the past month I've been loving these 2 L'Oreal mascaras together, its like the power couple.
Im using my long time fave, Telescopic for the lengthening effect paired up with the new Voluminous Million Lashes Excess.

ok so Voluminous Million Lashes Excess is amazing on its own, it seriously makes your lashes so big and fluffy, i even compared it to a higher end mascara (Benefit They're Real), and it was soooo much better. In all honesty, the Benefit one did not impress me and it just doesn't work as good as the drugstore kinds.

Apply the Telescopic mascara on top of the Excess and you will gain both volume and length and then you will have OMG lashes!
Yes, OMG lashes because thats what dem people will be saying when they see your lashes, OMG!<3

haha much love,

Yara

Tarte Maracuja Creasless Concealer

Hey guys,
Ok yes I've been gone for way too long and it's because of finals and so much going on.
December is always a overwhelming month mostly because it's finals and cramming in all the assignments due and studying nonstop.
But during the month of November I purchased a new concealer from tarte. And I have been testing it out for the past weeks. So far I love it, it covers my under eye fully and wears all day. Like I was surprised it stayed on throughout the entire day so I was happy with that. It says it's cress less but it's not, it creases so you have to set it with a translucent powder.
I don't like the under eye to be dewy or shiny so I set it with a translucent powder to give it the matte effect. I apply this with a concealer brush from Sephora, it's from their professional line, it's the airbrush concealer.
I love the brush it's worth the money and apples the concealer smoothly and flawlessly. When the sephora lady tried the product on me I had to buy the brush as we'll. Applying concealer it's best with a brush because the eye is so sensitive you don't want to pull and drag the product in that area. Best to buy a fluffy concealer brush to buff it in flawlessly.

I give this product a 7.5/10 :)

More reviews on the way!

YSL Dessin Des Levres Lip Liner in 08 Review

Happy Monday Lovelies,

Because its Monday and its a gloomy chilly Monday here in Toronto I would love to share with you my luxurious baby. YSL is my all time favourite luxurious brand, everything in their makeup line is just so majestic. I wish I can afford all YSL products but I'm a student and boohoo :(

I decided to invest in a lip liner because lip liners are very useful, you can use them as a lip liner
(obviously) or as lipstick. It last super long at least for me it lasts about 4 hours without reapplying, and it has a smooth texture. The colour payoff is so true and very pigmented and applies flawlessly.

Take your time with makeup its all about quality, so investing in some expensive items are worth it but only if your research it properly. Don't just splurge on the name buy it with reasoning and worth. Before I buy an expensive item I read reviews and I'd go ask the makeup clerk about the product.

So think before you spend!

John Frieda Frizz- Ease Sheer Solution Review

Calling all you Curly haired girls,

This product is for you and i mean it! If you are in the category of wavy/ curly hair then this is the product you need! It decreases the Frizz instantly and leaves off a smoooooooth finish.

Its a 2 part solution where you have to mix it up and then apply 10 drops into your palm and apply to the ends of your damp hair, depending on the length and thickness you may need more or less. This product is just pure amaze-balls like i have thick curly hair and apply this after i shower and let it air dry and i come out with smooth tamed curls/waves. It works like a curl diffuser i guess... LOL either way it leaves your curls proper!

Its very inexpensive compared to the higher brands obviously but for this product its a great price, its around $13? You can find it anywhere thats for sure, I've always loved John Frieda's hair products they work so well and he is very well known for his Frizz line.

Try it out and you won't be disappointed :)

Tips and Tricks to Contouring and Highlighting

Image from Pinterest
Hey Lovelies,

This topic has been long and overdue but hooray now it is here :)
Contouring and highlighting are crucial steps in your makeup routine if you want to achieve the flawless face look. Contouring is basically a way to shape your face, it is creating a shadow in certain areas to give more definition to. You contour every time you add eyeshadow to the crease, this illusion creates a more in depth eye.

To contour you need to have a matte bronzer, i find matte works the best and gives the most wrapped up look. To apply, use an angled brush to achieve a more sculpted look or a big powder brush to achieve a more natural subtle look. Apply starting from the temples down to the hallows of your cheeks, meaning underneath your cheek bones. Make a duck face pose and apply to the sucked in parts. And then apply to the jawline, carry it down to your neck with whatever product left. I like to use Benefit Hoola, its so perfect and gives a natural finish. Contouring your nose is the best trick of all, just add a little bronzer to an eyeshadow brush and apply it to both sides of the bridge of your nose, this gives the illusion of a smaller nose, ummmm who wouldnt want that!!!!

Highlighting gives the skin the glowing look we all want all the time, but not the ugly kind, the Jennifer Lopez glow! Highlighting is very simple, just dust some off on top of your cheekbones and under the contour, up your nose and the area between your brows and forehead, and a little on the chin. Also highlighting is used under the eye up to the end of the nose, creating a triangle, using a highlighting concealer to do the trick.  I like to use MAC Soft and Gentle, its light and natural, sometimes if i want a dewy look ill use Benefit High Beam on its own or ill put that as the base and then dust on soft and gentle.

Hope you liked this post if you have any questions or suggestions please let me know anytime :)

School handbag tips

Hey guys,

So it's back to school clearly and if you guys don't know I go to York university. And some of the things I find hard to find is a good bag to take to school.
Of course the iconic back bag is useful but it becomes a problem for me. I always need to take out my wallet to buy lunch or for the bus and having a back bag made the process so much harder. So I reverted back to just a handbag because it was the easiest. It's hard to find a good handbag to take to school because you want it to be able to hold alot of things but at the same time be comfortable. Here are my tips on finding an ideal bag for you.
Find a long bag, there will be much more storage space verses a horizontal sized bag because you're textbook and notebooks are vertically longer than the width so it makes sense to find a purse that compliments that.
Make sure the straps are decent thickness so that the weight won't be too straining on your shoulders
Overall invest in a high quality bag. Trust me I've had my fair share in bags and buying cheap bags are not worth it. Don't waste your money on bags that have no quality. There's a reason higher brand names are more expensive it's not just for the name, but it's because of the quality in designing it is much more higher.
I always get OMG Yara you spent that much on a bag? And for school? Ummm yeah I'm gonna spend that lump sum of money on one bag because its gonna save me money in the long run. Buying an expensive bag will be worth it because its going to stop you from buying the cheap bag that will break and rip in a month or so.
Invest in a bag that you know the quality is great and durable. Don't get just because of name but base it on durability.
I've been eyeing Michael Kors tote bag forever and never bought it until this year. People are like you crazy spending that money on a bag for school? It's not only for school I can use it to go out as well.
Find a bag that will have multiple uses, the more uses you can come up with the more reason to buy it. If you can think of many reasons why the bag is good to invest in that the price of it will look much more cheaper because you will be gaining a lot from it.
This Michael Kors bag I know is great for school because its big and strong and made with high quality products.
I know that LongChamp bags are very durable too and worth the money to use for school or travel and even general fashion!
I hope this post was useful in any way!

Favourite Fall Lip Products

Hey Guys,
Fall is pretty much around the corner and that means changing your makeup colours. I love fall for the following reasons, for the fashion and makeup oh and awesome new tv series! - cant wait for vampire diaries :D!!
Fall is all about the darker shades and you can count on the biggest color trend for the fall time is the same as last year - Ox Blood! Its so gorgeous with makeup and as many different fashion items.
So my picks for fall lip colors are these amazing babies that you should definitely try out, always try coming out of your comfort zone once in awhile you never know what looks amazing on you unless you try it out!

1) The Famous All Around Prefect "Red" Shade
Every girl needs to find the perfect red shade, red is an all year round color and will never go out of style. Its a beauty product staple to have and my favourite lipsticks in red are MAC: Russian Red and Chanel: Rouge Coco Gabrielle 19

2) Maroon Shade
This is a big trend happening again for fall this year and it is a deeeeeeeep shade of red, maroon is so sultry on the lips, pulls your makeup all together! But of course ox blood and maroon shades are kind of scary to try out thats why start of slow, go for a lighter shade to ox blood something more closer to your comfort zone.  My favourite is by Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede: Backstage

3) Bright Darkish Pink
Okay my description kinda collapses on itself but its hard to explain this shade, its by MAC: Girl About Town, its a bright pink but its more on the darker side of pink. Its Amplified thats why i say its bright but sometimes you want that pop of color during fall and this is an awesome pop of colour, its more of a fall color.

4) Berry Stain
Lip Stains are so awesome during the fall and winter time, and Revlon has an awesome line full of lip stains. You definitely need to invest in berry colors because they are so in during the fall time. My favourite is Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain: Crush

Here are the swatches to all the products

starting from the top
Revlon Colorstay: Backstage
Revlon Just bitten : Crush
MAC: Girl About Town
Chanel: Gabrielle
MAC: Russian Red

Hope you enjoyed it,

Nume Straightener Review

Hey Guys,

Ive been meaning to write this post for a long time but it always slipped my mind but here it is!
This straightener is amazing, like so amazing guys you don't understand! And the story behind it is crazy coincidence, i was at Winners and i found this straighter and it was for $40 which was great and i go to check it out and it was $20!!!! Compared to its original price of like $200!!! Crazy catch and i go home to test it out and it worked so perfectly, i was overjoyed!

Nume is a great line for curlers and straighteners, and the one i have is pink silhouette one, its 100% ceramic plates its 1 1/4 sized plates, goes up to 410 degrees.
It heats up super fast and contains that heat thorugh-out the whole hair styling time. it glides on smoothly and with just one stroke its already pretty straightened.

I have curly hair and it takes me awhile to straighten my whole head but with this straightener it takes me 25min and thats amazing compared to normally taking me 45 mim or more!
Its a great product for curly haired girls because it'll cut the styling time in half! And we all need that extra time somewhere... perhaps makeup?

Here's how it makes my hair look...

I strongly recommend this product to everyone and it is curly and thick hair certified! Im planning to check out their curlers because i heard great reviews on them as well!

Real Techniques Brushes Review

Hey Hi,

Real Techniques Brushes are a fairly new line of brushes made by Samantha Chapman; a makeup artist. She is a fabulous makeup artist and a big youtube personality with a wide range of makeup tutorials.

These brushes are actually quite awesome, i love them so much. They are dense and thick and apply everything so flawlessly. Also, they are not expensive they are super affordable. Its like getting high-end brushes for the price of a drugstore brush.

My two favourite brushes so far are,
The foundation brush is awesome, not the normal flat brush but its a round thick dense domed brush. It buffs your foundation so smoothly and effectively all over your face. And the domed eyeshadow brush is super useful, i use it to buff in my concealer. All the brushes are thick and well shaped and this is why i really love it because it will transform your makeup to the way it should be.

You can buy them in packages or they are sold separately, unfortunately finding them in Canada is not the easiest, the only places I've seen them sold were at Wal-Mart and sometimes if you're lucky you will find them at Winners!
I very much recommend to purchase these brushes they are worth it!!

TopShop Makeup

Hello beauty lovers,
I am so sorry i havent been blogging like at allll!! its summer time and i went on vacation and was really busy, but I'm back with some great new posts planned!!
Today i will be talking about TopShop makeup, TopShop is an awesome store and they have a great line of makeup and nail polish.
I recently purchased some new products from them because they had an amazing sale! I got some nail polish for only 3$! and normally theyre like 11$ so obviously awesome buy!
i also bought an eyeshadow quad, that was only 8$ and i wanted to test it out they are perfect colors for fall! BTW are any of you excited for fall as much as i am??
The eyeshadow quality is pretty decent gives off great colour quality, pretty pigmented and for the amount i got it for you cant go wrong. A while back i purchased a blush from TopShop and its amazing, like it super pigmented all you need is a dab into it and you get alot of color!

Lush Love: Cosmetic Warrior Mask

Hey guys,

I clearly have an addiction to Lush and continuously purchase their products, enough to save up 5 containers and receive a free mask -_-LOL
So i got a new mask and its geared towards skin thats being pretty problematic, I've been breaking out and this mask is very much helping out!
i noticed it the day after using it how much less puffy my pimples looked and more glowy my skin looked and felt.
it doesnt smell good to me so i hate applying it because of the strong scent but it does the job really well. it contains tea tree oil and garlic both antiseptics, therefore are fighting agents towards acne prone skin.
if youve got acne prone skin or your skin has been acting up lately, try this mask its bound to clear some things up!

Rimmel Mascara Scandaleyes Review

Hello Again!
I was working one day and noticed this customers incredibly thick full lashes. I was debating whether to seem creepy and ask her about her eye lashes or just let it be. Guess what i chose... haha i'm a makeup addict, of course i will ask about anything to do with makeup!
So i asked her what mascara she uses and she tells me Rimmel, and I've never used their products much i think i have 3 products now all together from them. Anyways, she grabs them from her purse and shows me the two she uses and tells me how amazing they are and perfect for sensitive eyes. I HAVE SENSITIVE EYES!!! So yeah of course i got excited to hear how great a product is!!
And soon later i ran off to Wal-Mart to purchase their mascara as i was due for a new one anyway, and I really like it. The product pay off is build-able and the consistency of the product is not too wet, its like pasty-ish? the bristles are brush-like not like plastic or whatever.
It lengthens the lashes and gives great volume.
So far so good!!

TTYL,
Yara!!

Benefit Erase Paste Review

heyyyyy,
I finished my Bobbi Brown concealer :( so sad, i loved it so super duper much! but oh well time to try out another product ive been eyeing for quite some time!
I went to Sephora last week in search for the best concealer for my under-eye area, because that is where i need the greatest coverage. I knew Erase Paste was the ultimate product i wanted to try but i also heard about Nars concealer to be really good. But the sales associate led me to Benefit because they have the perfect product for the under-eye. - just so you know, i was wearing like no makeup just so i can find the best suit for me. -
The Erase Paste have a salmon shade to them, because this product is a color corrector as well, so not just a concealer. its made to brighten and color correct at the same time concealing dark circles.
it really does the job, its creamy and glides on smoothly, the only down turn on it is that it will crease on your lids so you have to set it with a powder. but other than that it lifts my eyes up, making them look so alive and radiant, and conceals the redness.
I really like it so far and here is an image of me having the Erase Paste on one eye and nothing on the other, please dont run away when you look at me :P LOL
left side:nothing
right side: erase paste

Makeup Review: L'Oreal Voluminous Power 24hr Mascara

Hello Makeup-aholics!
I recently purchased the new L'Oreal Voluminous Power 24hr Mascara infused with collagen spheres. It has a big wang, thick bristles and a great formula. I began to use it and noticed how much thicker and longer my lashes looked compared to the other mascara i was using  (Maybelline Mega-Plush Volume).
Comparison of the two, Maybelline was much weaker in delivering the volume to the lashes, and made them look thinner compared to L'Oreal. L'Oreal made your lashes look super thick  in just one coat. It holds off for the whole day no smudging or crustiness.
Honestly, all mascaras from L'Oreal are great, so far this is my most favourite mascara from them. Its definitely worth a try! And it makes your lashes look full, volumed up, and long :)
